Accountability is very very important. It keeps us on track so that we are less likely to make excuses. I need accountability as much as the next person. Here is what I am doing and some of what I have done today
Water intake is very high on my list. I have been trying to consume 3-4 22oz bottles of water.
Greens: I have also been trying to get greens in at at least 2 out of 3 meals. Also veggies for one snack.
Movement: I'm walking some miles, swimming and just trying to not sit very much. No fancy programs as of yet.
I'm trying to keep everything very simple and doable.
Scriptures and Meditation is also high on my list. I have a set schedule for this but if I find myself in between things or just need to sit and take a break for a min...this is what I am doing in all my free moments.
How are you doing? How I can I help you stay on track?
After failing to meet my before 40 goal. I am still working on my goal everyday no matter how long it takes.

Redefining Failure
As usual, I do good for a little bit and then something happens to goof me all up again. The next thing I know I'm willing to make peach cobbler at 8:30 at night. I've felt really overwhelmed lately with my life circumstances and once again, like that....health and fitness take a back row seat.
The great thing though is that I recognize it. Even though I'm willing to rebel for a short amount of time, (Okay, maybe too long of a time), I always come back and resolve to work on it some more.
I heard a guy on the radio the other day talking about failure. As he talked, it really resonated with me. He talked about failure as a good thing. With failure, it can breed learning, growth, creativity, determination, etc.. He talked about the movie company Pixar and how they thrive on failure and want all their employees to be willing to fail a time or two.
So how do we get back up, dust ourselves off, learn from our experiences, and try again?
As I was typing this, I had a new thought. Many people, including myself, get discouraged thinking, "I have been trying my whole life!" , "This is impossible! I keep failing!"
I have thought those things too. Maybe instead of just trying again, we first need to analyze our last attempts, our failures.
There is the saying that goes something like this, "If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you have always gotten." That makes me think, something needs to be different about this attempt then the last 50 attempts. Also, if part of the equation worked on the last attempt, then only change the part that didn't, not the whole thing.
I will be pondering all this some more and coming up with a new or improved game plan for myself. I hope you will do the same. But while I am thinking about it and deciding, I have a couple goals for myself.
1) Drink more water!!! 3 pink 22oz water bottles a day.
2) Eat more veggies!!! At least one snack, and one serving with lunch and dinner.
3) Get off your rear and move! maybe use my fitbit!?!
There is also something else I want to discuss that I've been thinking about. It is hard for me, but I need to not let myself be defined by my weight. My weight does not make me a failure. My weight is not who I am or the only thing about me. There are many things that I can do and do very well that have nothing to do with my weight. Now this is not an excuse not to do something about my weight. I do know from experience, that you can lose all the extra weight and be 100 lbs and still feel like crap on the inside and lack self-confidence.
That being said, the inside needs to change as much as the outside. Otherwise, you may be in a different body but your still fighting the same battles in your head.
I hope all this helps you to redefine Failure and look at it from a different perspective. Many of the greats, failed tons of times before they had success. Don't Give Up!
